History of Your Life
Overview
The purpose of this course is twofold: first, it offers you a chance to explore modern history beyond the school's History curriculum; secondly, it shapes this exploration through the lens of generational studies. This course is designed to help you achieve in college, and is therefore a senior elective. All that means is that there is a lot of reading, generational theory, writing, and modern history during the course. There are varied summative assessments, hopefully capturing the academic prowess of each of you.

Student-Driven
Although there is a specific curriculum and summative assessments to meet the demands of the competencies, this course can be student-driven. However, that requires your participation and engagement in the materials. Remember, you are second semester seniors, about to graduate and go out into the "real world" (whether it be college, work, or the military). Use this course to learn about events that have happened during your lifetime. Stop and consider how your generation looks at the world, versus how your teacher, parents, grandparents, and ancestors did.
