31. Japan Case Study - Education in Japan (11/30G & 12/1W)

EQ: What does the public education system of Japan look like?

  • Students start the class by watching the two videos for the DBQ and completing the associated pages in their packet (Day in the life of a high schooler in Japan - https://youtu.be/VLZsOjtBV-E AND Best kindergarten - https://youtu.be/J5jwEyDaR-0)

  • Then, they are to work on the “Japanese Education” handout. This is a packet where they must start out by reading the documents in the packet and annotate as they read. Then they need to complete the table on the front page of the DBQ packet. After which, they are to write a CEA paragraph answering the Essential Question (What does the public education system of Japan look like?) with examples. THIS DBQ MAY BE DONE IN PAIRS, BUT FINAL PARAGRAPH MUST BE DONE ALONE. When done with that step, they should team up with another group to make a poster about the EQ.

  • THIS IS A ONE DAY ASSIGNMENT. FOR THOSE THAT MAY FINISH EARLY, THEY MAY WORK ON THEIR MISSING WORK. EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO DO. (IF ANYONE WISHES TO WORK ALONE, THEY MAY)
