Achievement Unlocked

If you are in Ms. Parkinson's class you have the opportunity to take part in leveling up your education through supplemental activities. If you are struggling in an area, or want to challenge yourself, this is the area to check out. If you are interested in taking AP US History or Honors American History next year, you should be participating in this program.

Samples of Previous Assignments

  • Answer the opening Essential Question in a half-page to one page. EQ: How can I be a productive member of the classroom? 
  • Add 5-10 points to the Google Map that you DID NOT work on in class. Africa or the Middle East
  • Write a one-page paper on Mali
  • Answer two of the daily Essential Questions in a half page each (due Mondays). The EQs are written on the board each day, so make sure that you record the questions during class.
  • Constitution Day Essay Contest
  • Watch John Green's Video on the Crusades on YouTube.
  • Watch these two awesome science videos A Capella Science- Bohemian Gravity and A Capella Science- Rolling in the Higgs
  • Reflection piece about the Malala interview from the Daily Show
  • Choose two people from Ancient Greece or Rome, find a digital resource about them (video, webquest, image gallery), and write a paragraph about each one.
  • Find one article about what is going on in Crimea and write a 5-10 sentence paragraph summarizing what is going on there right now.
  • Watch the John Green video "Ukraine Explained" and write a 5-10 sentence paragraph summarizing what his is talkin about (bonus points if you can figure out what mistake he makes... he's been pretty open about it, so you can search the Internet for the answer).
  • Write 1/2-1 page paper about what it takes to be a strong Honors or AP student.
