21. Roman Social Life Group Stations (3/15 & 16)

(Parkinson Sub Plans 3/15)

I am in the building today for a social studies curriculum retreat.

IF THERE IS A BLIZZARD BAG, PLEASE COLLECT THE DATA ON THE ATTACHED SHEET. THEY HAD 3 OPTIONS: 1) 20 MINUTES WORK ON A CURRENT EVENT, 2) SUMMARIZE A ROMAN MYTH, 3) WRITE A PARAGRAPH ABOUT ANCIENT ROMAN SCULPTURES OF PEOPLE.

EQ: Why did social life and engineering play such important roles in the daily life of Roman citizens?

  • Students will be working in small groups completing a packet on Ancient Rome. The packet has a group of activities that they need to work through that include a selection of resources: textbooks, chromebooks (Each student is assigned a chromebook, and the list of names/numbers is in the binder on top of Chromecart #2.), and two folders worth of handouts (there are 30 copies of each, so they need to go back in the folder when they are done).

  • This is a lot of work, so they should be working the entire time (and will not finish). They will have time to finish tomorrow.

  • Thank you so much. (and I included the answers to the Greek and Latin Vocabulary section in this packet, along with the Chromebook sign out list AND the Blizzard Bag Checkoff that needs to get passed in)

If there are technology problems, they should be using their notes and the textbooks to do the research for the packet, there are also some other Rome books scattered around the room.

On 3/16, I will also be collecting the EQ Overview Page
